Sixteen point card stock can be great, but it also has the disadvantage of making your business cards prohibitively expensive.

The thing is, thicker card stock does not always automatically correspond to better business cards. Thinner cards can work just as well, and they have the bonus benefit of giving you the ability to print much larger batches for the same price. This can dramatically increase the footprint of your business cards since you would have a far greater quantity to distribute to anyone and everyone that you end up meeting along the way.
